When I was growing up part of the summer was spent in the musky woods near my house or searching through the fields collecting blackberries. I was really observing how plants grow. Then I discovered the profession of landscape architecture which I knew I had to be part of. After collecting my degree in horticulture, applying that to maintenance and then working with mentors in landscape design, I graduated to my own business. It has been a rewarding career which I continue to learn about.  My inspiration is fed by traveling to arboretums, gardens and seminars around the world.

The design process starts with a creative approach to solving a problem. Whether it is to add curb appeal or give my clients shade in the late afternoon.

One of the  best ways to learn is to get your hands dirty.  Before turning into a designer I was a local gardener for private properties and on a large 400 acre campus. By revisiting a project, I gain knowledge to what really works.
